2021 will go down as a vintage for iconic Kabinett wines. This style has experienced a renaissance in recent years, and long may it continue. In a vintage like 2021, you have that perfect balance and harmony of fruit, sweetness, and acidity. Fresh tropical and exotic fruits but also a strong citrus game. Lively, crunchy and fresh is the simplest way to summarize this liquid masterpiece. This wine will put a smile on the face of any Kabi (Kabinett) lover. But take your time, in the cellar and the glass, this is a wine that won't need rushing. Anyone else thinking of Diana Ros and the song from The Supremes "You Can't Hurry Love"? No? Just me then but anyway, you get the point.

Alte Reben means "Old Vines" in English or "Vieilles Vignes" in French. The exact time of planting is actually unknown, but they do look pretty old. The soil here is a mixture of grey and red slate on sunny spot within the vineyard, resulting in this slightly more tropical style.

Stefan Müller is one of those young winemakers you read about who are rocking Mosel, Saar, and Ruwer right now. Stefan's family has been farming this 10-hectare estate in the Saar tributary for three generations. Though a small amount of Pinot exists on the estate, like for many, Riesling is the queen and reigns supreme. Most of the family vineyards are spread across the villages of Krettnach and Niedermennig. If these village names sound familiar, you are right. Among other notable names with vineyard holdings in these areas, one that stands out is Hofgut Falkenstein.
