Domaine Barraud, Pouilly Fuisse 1er Cru "Sur La Roche" 2022

The Barraud family has been working the vineyards of Vergisson since 1905. Today, Daniel and Martine Barraud run the Domaine with their son Julien, farming some of the most impressive parcels in Pouilly-Fuisse.

Their vineyards sit on limestone rich plateau at a higher altitude, a setting that brings freshness and precision to Chardonnay. Many of the vines are decades old, with some parcels planted more than 60 years ago. Each site has its own identity — from the power of En Buland to the tension of La Roche .

Work in the vineyards follows organic principles, with harvests carried out by hand. In the cellar fermentations are natural, ageing is mostly in oak barrels with a well judged touch of new wood, with the ultimate goal of balance over embellishment.

The final wines have that typical mineral, layered Pouilly Fuisse character. They truly capture the personality of this exciting Burgundian region, always striking the right balance of richness and clarity.
