This is a lovely example of the lesser seen Greek variety, Savatiano, courtesy of 70 year old vines grown in Attica, just East of Athens. Superbly fresh and herbal, with loads of citrus and a fantastic crisp yet textural quality, you couldn't really do better than this with a beautiful grilled white fish on a summer's evening.

Domaine Papagiannakos is located in the heart of Attica, just east of Athens, where hill-side vineyard hills are cooled by breezes from the Aegean Sea. Established in 1919, the winery is now led by third-generation winemaker Vassilis Papagiannakos, who has brought renewed energy and vision to the family estate. Long-established plantings of Savatiano and Malagouzia flourish in the area’s dry, sun-drenched soils, yielding wines that express both precision and personality. The Papagiannakos family remains rooted in tradition whilst applying state of the art modern and sustainable winemaking techniques in their stunning and innovative bioclimatic winery.
