This Kabinett style is a winner for fans of classic Riesling, with a touch of residual fruit sweetness. It has a charming lightness, gorgeous pure fruit, floral and flinty aromas, and a touch of spice and smoke from the iron rich slate soils. The Haag's embrace and perfect this style of traditional fruit-forward Kabinetts, vinifying in stainless steel to preserve their clarity and purity. A delicate yet expressive and energetic style that will excite classicists tremendously.

The Haag family apply very precise winemaking to make exceptionally elegant Rieslings in classic Mosel style.
Their prime vineyard holdings are the Brauneberger Juffer GG (one of the few designated grand cru by edict of Napoleon in 1804) and the the Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr GG - much admired for their exceptional stony grey/blue slate soils and characteristic floral minerality and tensile elegance in the wines.

The estate owes its greatness to legendary Wilhelm Haag, who started crafting beautiful wines from the Juffer and Juffer-Sonnenuhr's dauntingly steep and rocky slopes in the late 1950s. An influential Mosel figure, he also headed up the Mosel VDP for nearly twenty years. His younger son Oliver took over the family estate in 2005 and is constantly improving his vineyard sites: in 2021 three-quarters of a hectare of lesser vineyards was sold off and exchanged for better ones.

The house style prizes balance, finesse and subtlety over power or ostentation, and the wines are the better for it.
