The first of what will hopefully be many vintages, this is Rosa working real magic with pure Mosel Pinot. The fruit comes from the Bullayer Brautrock vineyard just outside her home village. Tiny, thick-skinned Spatburgunder berries spent 13 days on maceration with only four punch-downs, before 14 months in barrel and a further nine months in bottle prior to release.

The result is a wine full of perfumed dark cherry fruit, delicate spice and beautiful structure- a standout example of why German Pinot and Mosel Pinot in particular, is rocking the wine world right now. Light-footed, graceful and truly memorable, it’s one of the finest Mosel Pinots I’ve tasted in recent times.

Rosa has been travelling the world, working harvests at wineries from New Zealand to Oregon and California.

Her quest for knowledge and experience brought her to the Mosel back in 2022 for an internship with Philip Lardot with the idea of staying for just a year (something many fellow expats can probably relate to). But the valley’s magnetic Rieslings had other plans and she’s been there ever since.

Where there is wine, there is love: the stars aligned for her and Philip, and one year quickly turned into three. Now happily married, they’ve become the power couple this corner of the Mosel didn’t know it needed. Together they farm six hectares of old, reclaimed and punishingly steep vineyards, producing some of the most distinctive single-vineyard Rieslings and Pinots in the region.

This is Mosel wine but different. A style you may never have known existed, but once you taste Rosa’s wines, you’ll see the region in a completely new light.
