This elegant Chardonnay is a great example of the quality revolution happening in the Pfalz region, where dedicated, hardworking young winemakers are turning out simply extraordinary wines. The Seckinger brothers' village Chardonnay from the Maikammer vineyards Kapellenberg and Paradies is an all-round winner. Slightly reductive flinty notes give way to fresh citrus high notes, with fleshy orange and creamy apricot fruit at the core, and a foundation of chalky minerality with real drive and verve on the palate giving a remarkable evocation of terroir. Fans of white Burgundy and Chardonnays of the Jura will delight in this natural beauty.

One of the Pfalz region's great recent success stories, the Seckinger brothers, Philipp, Jonas and Lukas, took over the family vineyards in 2012 and founded their own winery, with a very clear mission to work as naturally as possible and produce wines with a true sense of place.

With grapes from some of the best Pfalz vineyards around Deidesheim already at their disposal, they carefully expanded their vineyard holdings around Deidesheim, Königsbach, and Ruppertsberg. They converted first to organic, then to biodynamic farming in 2018.

The results have spoken for themselves, with a distinctive style of bone-dry elegance, minerality and purity shining through all their bottlings, which include Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc.
