Often the best things come from unexpected combinations. Vineyards near a ski resort...in Greece? Now that's a bit different! And it turns out quite thrilling. From old vines grown organically at altitudes of 450-1000 metres on Mount Helmos in the Peloponnese, Tetramythos's Natur range celebrate low-intervention wine making, with no added sulphur. Malagousia, an indigenous variety, excels in these cool, high altitude conditions, retaining its bracing acidity, which is allowed to soften through malolactic fermentation. Notes of lime, herbs and peaches and superb minerality and length combine to make this a fabulous wine, remarkably elegant and pure for a "natural" wine, that works perfectly as an apperitiv or to pair with light summer dishes.

Tetramythos is a winery situated on Mount Helmos in the Greek Peloponnese, with vines growing at 450-100 metres altitude, alongside olive and almond groves, and a famous ski resort.

Founded by Aristos and Stathis Spanos and winemaker Panayiotis Papagiannopoulos in 1999, it has been organic since 2004. Their focus is on cultivating and vinifying rare Greek varieties like Mavro Kalavryta (saved from extinction) and Roditis (for Roditis Orange, fermented in amphorae), and they also make Greece’s only single-site Retsina infused with local pine resin.

Papagiannopoulos has a knack for producing both exceptionally expressive and delicate wines, that never fail to convey their truly remarkable roots.
