This Barolo, a combination of fruit from ‘Berri’ and ‘Torriglione’ in La Morra, feels like the estate’s coming-out party for the Berri cru. Tucked into the western tip of the Barolo zone, the vineyard sits high up and cool- exactly where time and terroir have fused into something seriously compelling.

On the nose it opens with dark cherries and cranberries, then glides into orange peel, mint, clove and mixed spice, with florals threading through like wildflowers at sunset. The palate has density and polish- black cherry, crushed raspberry, liquorice and tea- not heavy, but grounded with grip. Tannins are present but fine and melting into a finish that feels both sensual and precise.

This is Barolo tuned for both depth and approachability. It’s expressive without excess, rich without clogging, and built to age or to be enjoyed now in moments that deserve a little presence.

Trediberri may be a newcomer in Barolo, founded in 2007, but the estate has quickly earned a reputation for combining tradition with a fresh, unpretentious spirit. The name comes from “the three from Berri”: Nicola Oberto, his father Federico and family friend Vladimiro Rambaldi. Together they planted their first vines in the overlooked Berri cru on the western edge of La Morra. Once abandoned after the war, these clay-limestone slopes now form the heart of Trediberri’s identity.

Alongside Berri, the family farms vines in two of La Morra’s most prized crus, Rocche dell’Annunziata and Torriglione. Their Barolo style leans old-school with concrete fermentations, long macerations and aging in large Slavonian oak casks. The result is Nebbiolo with structure, purity and a lifted, floral edge.

Trediberri is not only about Barolo. Their Dolcetto from Alta Langa, Barbera d’Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo all carry the same clarity and soulful expression making perfect everyday wines made with the same care as their top crus.

This is Barolo stripped of pomp and pretense, made by a family intent on farming honestly and bottling wines that feel alive in the glass.
