The newest Troupe collaboration is with Rainer Schnaitmann, a regional stalwart from the Remstal near Stuttgart. Rainer is a member of the progressive biodynamic group Respekt and brings that same forward-thinking spirit to this project. His vision for the collaboration with Troupe was to create a fresh take on Lemberger (aka Blaufrankisch).

Traditionally, this grape is known for fuller-bodied styles  that are rich in tannins and fruit-forward. Here, Rainer went in a different direction. By selecting grapes from across his vineyard sites and blending in some Trollinger, they have crafted a lighter, more elegant wine with high acidity and a slight reductive edge.

This one is made for those who love to veer off the beaten track, especially Pinot Noir fans in search of something crunchy, vibrant and a little unexpected. And yes- it’s absolutely perfect served chilled. Pair it with charcuterie, hearty stews, fatty cuts of meat or simply fire up the barbecue and let it shine.

Troupe is a new kind of negociant, a group of flying winemakers who celebrate the experiments that might otherwise be blended away into oblivion. Collaborating with growers across the wine world, Troupe gives these ideas a chance to see the light of day- wines that might otherwise have remained as dreams, what-ifs, and could-have-been.

What makes these wines truly special is the spirit of collaboration. Tom and Nick work hand in hand with winemakers to craft something genuinely unique. Friends, like London artist Sophie Clover, contribute beautifully detailed labels that are artworks in their own right, capturing the winemaker, the story and the spirit of the land.

Sustainability and social equity sit at the heart of Troupe’s philosophy. All wines are sourced from growers who share these values without compromises. Past and present collaborations include Martin Diwald, Alexander Arns and Rainer Schnaitmann.

No wine is ever the same- each is its own little masterpiece. And the best part? There’s always another project waiting in the wings.
